Adaptive Strategies, Misunderstood Symptoms: Rethinking Eating Disorder Recovery

CE Hours 1.5

About this live event

This presentation explores the dynamic intersection of sensory processing systems, Polyvagal Theory and disordered eating—highlighting how these interconnected systems shape opportunities within eating disorder treatment. Through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, grounded case studies, and lived experience this talk will outline practical treatment considerations that integrate sensory-informed care, regulation techniques, and nervous system attunement. By centering the relationship between sensory processing and the autonomic nervous system, the presentation will offer clinicians concrete tools to foster more compassionate, empowering, and individualized approaches to eating disorder treatment.
